Problems with current Hardware Wallets!

Hardware Wallets are an essential part of the whole Bitcoin and crypto proposition. Without them, it gets exponentially hard to manage our seeds / private-keys and keep our stash safe.

I use a couple of Ledger, Trezor, and KeepKey devices to manage my own Bitcoin and Altcoin portfolio but I was never really happy with any of them. And when we started to explore and compare hardware wallets for integrating into our Hybrid Custody™ framework the issues became even more apparent!

Let me explain!

The most affordable and accessible devices, relatively speaking, had a horrible user experience by 2024 standards and the more expensive ones felt like a dumbed-down touch phone or feature phone from the 2000s. I am not criticizing the technology inside them, just that the whole proposition does not feel right to me when I already have a state-of-the-art smartphone in my hand.

Yes, I understand that storing sensitive information like our seeds and private-keys on a connected device like our smartphone is very risky… but at the same time, it’s redundant and stupid to procure another similar device just to manage our crypto. Many of these hardware wallets are very fragile too.

What we truly need is a durable, discreet, and clever little accessory that works seamlessly with our smartphone and offers state-of-the-art safety and security for our crypto while being extremely easy to use.

Looks like we have to throw in our magic here too!
